Pat brings a deep background in food, agribusiness, and private equity.Prior to joining Whetstone, he served as Vice President of Business Development at AGR Partners, where he focused on $10–50 million junior capital investments in family and founder-led food and agribusinesses. Previously he was at PE backed Hearthside Food Solutions leading organic and inorganic growth efforts as well as the Commercialization Function and drove the integration of WestonFood’s Ambient Division assets.
Earlier in his career, Patrick spent over six years at Cargill in roles spanning corporate development and strategy, business development, and commodity trading. His work included several transactions including Pollos Bucanero (Colombian poultry processor), PURIS (pea protein processor), JoeWhite Maltings (Australian Malster), and AMSilk (spider-silk manufacturer), as well as the development of the strategy and game board for a new platform in bio-industrial fermentation.
Pat holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School ofManagement and a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish from StanfordUniversity, where he was a member of the football team.
As Head of Corporate Development based out of Chicago, Patrick is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic growth initiatives across the company. This includes mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and expansion into new product categories and markets –all to scale operations and drive long-term value creation.
